Bivalves
are bilateral which means that they have one cut going straight down from the top, having 2 identical shells located on to
the left and right of the crease. Some bivalves such as oysters are asymmetrical because one of the valves that is locked
onto an object is large and thick where as the other valve is thinner and smaller.
Coelem
The body
cavity of a coelomate animal are is located within the mesoderm. Bivalves have very small coeloms because of their
size and shape. That is why it is difficult to see the organs in the body.

Segmentation
Since Bivalves are 2 shelled organisms, it would
separate in the middle where the two identical shells are attached. Bivalves can by divided into 2 segments.
